Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of children who have attachment problems and to suggest methods of prevention and therapy. We collected 27 studies on the intervention of attachment and analyzed them for factors leading to negative effects in terms of attachment and for effects in terms of intervention. We went through this exhaustive process 3 times. The major results are as follows. Among 2~3 year clients, attachment frequency was high. These children revealed attachment problems irrespective of age and the older children displayed more developmental problems. Parents recognized their children¡¯s negative emotions, the problems of control and the aspects of sociability as difficulties and reported them as developmental characteristics. caregivers frequently quitting, parents¡¯s indifference, excessive sternness and inconsistency were factors disturbing the formation of secure-attachment. For diagnosing clients¡¯s characteristics and assessing the effects of intervention, all developmental areas and specific areas were examined with tests and observations were made of the children through interviews. The children, mothers and therapists all participated in the process of intervention and developmental specialists and doctors participated in the interviewing and diagnosing process. The goals of intervention were divided into individual child¡¯s goals, mother¡¯s goals and goals for attachment relationships. Children-centered interventions occurred at high levels of frequency but children-parent-centered interventions also rose steadily.
